Maysen makes her mark

I couldn't resist the title.

Maysen started her first year of school.  I didn't get to attend Meet the Teacher because I was at the hospital with my mom.  I got my first chance to meet her at Taylor's soccer game as we were competing against them and I was a little worried.

When Maysen comes to a T in the road she does not simply go on the quite relaxing road to the left or the more adventurous fun road to the right, no Maysen keeps walking straight and makes her own path; one that is quite and relaxing at times and adventurous and fun the rest.  She is a demanding, dimple smiling, pack rat, giggling, never brushing her hair mess and Mrs Cook, well Mrs Cook is quite, stunningly  pretty and calm; there was simply no way she could flourish in this ladies class.  Maysen seemed to love her though.  Maysen has shockingly been behaved in school.  She is thriving in school and I figured out why.  I went to Maysen's Christmas party and wow.  Mrs Cook is so calm she brings Maysen down a level.  She speaks queitly and nicely to all the childern. She has shown Maysen that she can still take her own path, but sometimes its okay to make a left or right.

My letter to Tessa

Marriage is not happily ever after and those people who say it is are liars. Marriage is sitting in the same room and being in two different worlds. Marriage is not calling a lawyer the first time you get into an argument.  Marriage is not being "in" love every day the rest of your life, marriage is falling in love over and over again. There will be times you look at Lee and suddenly realize what an awesome, hot and terrific person you decided to spend you life with.

People will say "never go to bed mad". Hell I've went to bed mad lots of times and one of two things happen; either A: I wake up in a better mood and have a terrific day or B: I wake up refreshed and ready to win the damn argument.

Also if you ever find his socks next to the clean clothes basket, just assume the are dirty and wash them. NEVER SMELL THE SOCKS, just assume they are dirty.

This has worked for me for over 20 years. Good luck Tessa, I pray for the best for you and your new family. I hope y'all find your semi happily ever after in the real life kind of way.

Life is what you make it, so make it great.

Love you, Kate

Just Maybe

Maybe instead of telling people to walk a mile in you shoes; you should start enjoying life more, buy prettier shoes and dance in them.
